 碳酸二甲酯是一种新兴的无毒或微毒化工产品,可替代光气、硫酸二甲酯、氯甲烷、氯甲酸甲酯、苯、甲苯、二甲苯、氟里昂、三氯乙烷、三氯乙烯、氯仿等剧毒或致癌物用于有机合成或作为溶剂,被誉为“有机合成新基石”和“集清洁性及安全性于一身的绿色溶剂”。同时,碳酸二甲酯也是的汽/柴油添加剂和抗暴剂,更是新能源锂离子电池电解液中不可或缺的组分。 

  目前,工业上主要采用酯交换法或甲醇氧化羰化法生产碳酸二甲酯。前者是以石油的下游产品环氧丙烷或环氧乙烷为原料,先生产碳酸丙烯酯或碳酸乙烯酯,碳酸丙烯酯或碳酸乙烯酯再与甲醇酯交换制备碳酸二甲酯;后者是以甲醇、NO、CO、O2为原料,经由亚硝酸甲酯后制备碳酸二甲酯。

Dimethyl carbonate is an emerging non-toxic or slightly toxic chemical product, which can replace phosgene, dimethyl sulfate, methyl chloride, methyl chloroformate, benzene, toluene, xylene, freon, trichloroethane, Trichloroethylene, chloroform and other highly toxic or carcinogenic substances are used in organic synthesis or as solvents, and are known as "new cornerstones of organic synthesis" and "green solvents that combine cleanliness and safety". At the same time, dimethyl carbonate is also an efficient gasoline/diesel additive and anti-riot agent, and an indispensable and efficient component in the electrolyte of new energy lithium-ion batteries.

   At present, dimethyl carbonate is mainly produced by transesterification or methanol oxidative carbonylation in industry. The former uses propylene oxide or ethylene oxide, the downstream products of petroleum, as raw materials, first produces propylene carbonate or ethylene carbonate, and then propylene carbonate or ethylene carbonate is transesterified with methanol to prepare dimethyl carbonate; the latter is based on the production of dimethyl carbonate. Methanol, NO, CO, and O2 are used as raw materials to prepare dimethyl carbonate through methyl nitrite.
