The coal chemical enterprise that produces methanol using Shell powder coal gasification technology is designed to produce 500 kt of methanol per year and put into production in 2008. The crude gas purification adopts Lurgi low-temperature methanol washing technology, and requires the total sulfur (mainly hydrogen sulfide, almost no carbonyl sulfide) in the net gas to be less than 0.1×10-6. Traditional sulfide analysis methods include zinc acetate absorption method, hydrogen sulfide detection tube method, and gas chromatography FPD.
Sulfide is generally determined by packed column gas chromatography, which has low column efficiency, long flight time, time-consuming and laborious, and large error, which is not conducive to industrial mass production.
