Methylal is a colorless, clear, volatile and combustible liquid, which is widely used in coatings, pesticides, organic chemical raw materials, air fresheners, electronic chemicals and other fields. In recent years, many criminals have added unauthorized additives to gasoline, such as methylal, N-methyl aniline, dimethyl carbonate, aromatic hydrocarbons, etc., in pursuit of higher profits in the sales of refined oil products. The addition of methylal to gasoline does not contribute to the octane number.
